DWF LLP is a British law firm headquartered in Manchester with 12 offices across England, Scotland and Ireland. It trades as Resolution Law for its claimant services business. DWF started life as a four office practice in the North West of England.
UBI Ltd was appointed by DWF to provide move management and to deliver the relocation and integration of approx. some 350 staff from King William Street and Fenchurch Street to their new prestigious office space on the 32nd floor Walkie talkie Building London Central.
The project involved the relocation of files, IT equipment and itemised furniture and full IT de-commission and re-commission of desk top IT equipment. Highly confidential files and desk top IT equipment meant careful planning and liaison with DWF and our project manager worked alongside DWF’s facilities team ensuring that the tight timescale would be achieved. The project consisted of over 1200 filing and personal crates that had to be relocated and placed to the new layout on the 32nd floor. Over 400 desk-top Pc’s that needed to be decommissioned wrapped in anti-static protection, packed, transported and placed to their new desk positions. Our IT team then re-commissioned to ensure that there would be no disruption to staff on the Monday morning. Meticulous planning was essential for this project as not only did UBI have a tough and demanding time scale to keep to; working both day and evening shifts; but also and very importantly ensuring that the strict rules enforced from both London City Centre traffic regulations and the security and building management at the Walkie Talkie building was adhered to - this was demanding in itself. The relocation was completed over one weekend and was complete, within time and within budget.
Lisa Ermetici –SUPPORT MANAGER LONDON
“We have used UBI for all our office relocations and internal moves and relocating two locations to one is not new to UBI for us. However, this particular London move had more challenges than normal as a majority of the deliveries into the Walkie Talkie had to be pre-booked in and sent to a holding area to be weighed and checked first before being released. UBI managed and planned this meticulously to ensure the move was completed in time. As always the service delivered by UBI was professional and effective. UBI were involved in all pre and post move meetings and offered valuable advice from their extensive experience. Having completed this I have no doubt that there is nothing UBI can’t do – first class service as always.”
